Demolition has finally started!In order to put in new footings for the garage extension the concrete slab needs to be removed. Rather than remove the entire slab I'm removing just enough to make a trench for the footings. That'll save on concrete costs since I won't have to place a whole section of the driveway. Had a couple of buddies come over Friday night and more today. We got the front sidewalk ripped up and the driveway cut and demo'ed for the excavation.There were two options for the driveway: tear out the whole section or cut out just enough to make room to dig the new footings. Since I'm doing it myself I'm going with option two. Here's some pics of the guys.  Hard at work And one cutting the slab.
Burned up my circular saw cutting the concrete. The saw in the picture is an old beater saw a buddy loaned me. He told me he didn't care if I burned it up too. I hope he's right. Any bets on how long it'll last?
